Hello! My name is Meghan and I am currently an intern working toward completing my master’s degree in Couples and Family Therapy at CU Denver. I enjoy working with couples to help deepen their emotional connection with one another, increase effective communication, and gain new insights into old, destructive patterns. I use empathy, compassion, and warmth to act as a collaborative partner to help strengthen the relationship you have with yourself and with your partner.
I believe everyone can grow in their relationships and believe that change comes from personal insights, emotional connectedness, and understanding the ways that our relationships, families, and society impact us. I use an emotionally focused approach that emphasizes the importance of emotional bonds between one another and emotional communication to identify negative interactional patterns within your relationship that no longer serve you.
My favorite quote comes from F. Scott Fitzgerald: “For what it’s worth… it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start whenever you want. You can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you’ve never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of, and if you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start over again.”
Taking the first step toward the uncertain can be difficult and scary. I am here to help transform your courage into lasting change.
